This beast, lies with rotten scraps of food. Living alone on the last battlefield. Save for the flocks of carrion, To share my feast and recant endless forlorn tales. 'Beware the beast that lurks beneath the tower of ashes, He seeks to bring and end to your rule. In the darkest hours he will be summoned, Under a moon which bleeds with the flesh of man. To placate the beast, You must feed on the countless dead that lie before you.' I hunger for eons, The living have all dried up in this world. I beg to the skies, To sate my thirst for that of flesh. Yet no cries of the dead are to be heard here. Only the howl of the shadow that follows me further. His whispers track my every step, Towards a darker domain, Hidden deep within this verdant stone, A bastion of emerald regalness.

Monolith 16:01
As the scars dance across the sky, Obsidian hands peek through the linings, Under the midnight holes, The stars, beacons that herald this dawn, Of an age swathed in black, And ruled by pure terror incarnate, malefic... We bare this emblem to note our devotion, We lit torches at sacred tablets, Scared by bone and sinew, Held by the strings of cosmic muscle, Unwavering our faith to this mass of god like tentacles. Fire reigns down in a baleful glow, Purging this living planar existence, As pillars that held the world on this plateau, Crumble and wither into dust that powers the hourglass of time. Under the gaze of an ebony deity, Whose languid thrusts pierces unknown dimensions, With every breath the nausea consumes matter, And expunges all forms of being from this universe. We pray to the stars to redeem us, Yet the malformed herald of cosmic consumption spews forth desires. Black onyx spires rise from this dragon's mouth, As it picks the wings of those who fell from the skies. Protectors so feeble, carnate in ash As their vacuous bodies succumb to this plasmatic terror. This monolith, raised in darkness, Incanted by woes that blanket this world. And straddled by claws from beyond, That etch their marks into our minds. Swaying asunder the smoke that pilfers into the air. Chants echo around the ruined mountain sides, The words scrawled into a single fragment of rock, Belying the ominous verdant glow that knowingly seethes it's whispers into the wind. This monolith, raised for worship, Hoisted in place by countless dead beings, Feeding minions of terror unknown prophecies, Endlessly adding to this dark perch of cosmic nightmares, Flocks of rukhs travel untold dimensions, With cadavers of twisted carbon mutations, Intricately placed in runic fashion, They serve as a holding, a base for this other worldly plinth to thrive...

Ritual Light 07:27

A rain cascades, Misting towering structures, Eternally lit by torch light. No dawn ever breaks here, This land of endless moonlight. The rain casts down it's poisonous mists, It chokes the vines that clasp for life, Amidst the hope of a new dawn, That withers in a forgotten corner, Of a nightmarish landscape. A whisper, from forgotten coves, Reveals a lantern without limit. As it flickers upon my touch, A maiden, virgin, tender and pure, Sprouts upon the flame. Forlorn and shimmering without purpose, The last of this wick her lingering tribute to this world. Alone, this virgin brings forth her regal.. Last refractions to me, forever it glows, Inside this shattered cove. Within these dark hands Lies a princess of morning's light Blinded and scarred by suffocating Darkness and fog Withered by time and wind So pale this virgin child of light Yet fading in my grasp... (Yet) no dawn ever breaks here, This land of endless moonlight. The rain casts down it's poisonous mists, It chokes the vines that clasp for life, Amidst the hope of a new dawn.

about

Just a quick note on this release. Whilst finishing up the recording I was in the middle of moving house, leaving myself only a few hours per day to record, record, record and record over and over. I had a lot of issues with mics leading up to the day I had to pack & box everything up and it shows on one or two of the tracks (there are obvious ripples on feedback/guitar parts and a strange liquid noise on some of the vocal parts on 'Monolith'). Unfortunately I was not actually fully aware of these issues until I had moved and unloaded the PCs with everything on - hand in hand with the fact that it is impossible to record in the house I have moved into* I was essentially stuck with what I had. Further, I ended up having to mix the guitars & vocals using only a pair of headphones. I was given the option of hiring out a studio for a few days to address some of the issues, however I currently do not have the time, or indeed patience, to go over everything once more.

For those slight niggles on the tracks they appear I apologise.

*I decided to cease recording for the time being due to the type of house I have moved into (terraced) - coupled with the fact that the neighbours on either side of me both work night shifts in Liverpool Royal Hospital. I plan on setting up a sound proof rig some time in the future to get around this inconvenience.

Although this hindrance will not stop me from continuing to write...it is going to be a while before I am able to record anything once more.

Cover is a Gimped(2.0) version of the storm on Saturn which was released around the end of April 2013 with an added cheap looking lens flare.
